Introducing the EIPA
The EIPA has been in operation since September 2021. The objective of the EIPA is to represent and promote the Existential approach to Psychotherapy in a holistic and integrative way and to represent Irish practitioners with similar professional groups in Europe, with the European Association for Psychotherapy, with Irish Government agencies and within the Irish community.
The EIPA carries out its objective in large part by maintaining a rigorous and comprehensive accreditation system to European Association for Psychotherapy standards for those highly qualified psychotherapists who work with and have a defining interest in an existential approach to psychotherapy.
The accreditation and standards system of the EIPA is supervised by a committee comprising psychotherapists/practitioners and an independent external examiner.
The EIPA promotes research and education activities and operates an email referral service for members of the community to help them access the services of EIPA members.
'The EIPA will be working closely with the Federation for Existential Therapy in Europe (FETE). FETE is a full member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and holds a seat on the EAP Board.
